OpenOffice 3.0 beta has been released

Seems that day when we will start using OpenOffice 3.0 is nearing. OpenOffice.org finally released beta version of OpenOffice 3.0.

It is not recommended to replace your stable version with beta as it may not be stable. But you can install it to take a glance at new features like few significant ones:

  • Spreadsheet collaboration through workbook sharing;
  • Open Document (ODF) format support;
  • Opening MS Office 2007 files(.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc. );
  • New support for Mac OS X;
  • New Writer notes features;
  • Multiple Writer pages view while editing;

First release candidate is planned on June, what will be a great step towards more professional Open Office package that is getting more and more popular. Download latest beta releases here:
